Shots fired at vehicle

PHILIPSBURG--Shots were fired on A.Th. Illidge Road near the Windward Islands Bank building in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The target was a motor vehicle travelling towards Dutch Quarter, according to sources. The reason for the shooting is unknown as yet.

Witnesses to the police search of the area indicate that the police may have found some bullet casings on the ground.

When contacted by The Daily Herald Thursday about the incident, police spokesman Inspector Ricardo Henson said, "I cannot tell you very much at this time, until the detective's report is filed. I am aware that an incident took place and that shots were fired, but I will be able to tell you more tomorrow."

No indication has been received that any injuries were sustained.
