Earthquake near north coast of Trinidad

On Friday, February 04th at 08:16 a.m., local time, an earthquake occurred north-west of Trinidad. The event was located at 11.36�N, 61.87�W. The preliminary magnitude was 5.1 and the depth was 144 km. The earthquake was reported as felt throughout Trinidad, from Carenage to Princes Town to Sangre Grande. The event was also reported felt in Tobago, Grenada, St. Vincent and Saint Lucia. No damage or injuries were reported to the Seismic Research Centre. Please note that these results are preliminary and may vary slightly when additional data are processed.

NO TSUNAMI WARNING HAS BEEN ISSUED.
