BULLETIN OVER AN EARTHQUAKE IN THE CARIBBEAN SEA.

This morning about 08:40 A.M., an earthquake took place below the bottom of the
Caribbean Sea. This tremor was felt in a few sections of the SSS Islands as
well.

Preliminary data indicates that a tremor took place at a depth of about 97 miles
below the bottom of the sea with a magnitude of 5.4. Its epicenter was located
near 17.33 degrees north and 63.43 degrees west. This is about 32 miles West
Southwest of St. Eustatius, 24 miles South Southwest of Saba and 53 miles
Southwest of St. Maarten.

Based on this data and also historical data, a destructive tsunami is not
possible for the islands within the Caribbean Sea.

This is the only informative bulletin on this event issued by the Meteorological
Service of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba unless additional information
becomes available.
