Renewal process for BTA category two begins soon

PHILIPSBURG--BTA category two permit holders can start the renewal process soon. The Ministry of Justice has announced that it will begin contacting persons in this category soon to schedule an appointment. The renewal process is meant for persons requiring an extension.

First to be contacted will be employers of BTA permit-holders whose permits will expire in November. The processing fee must be paid by the employer prior to receipt of a permit. A payment order will be issued in advance.

Employers are requested to bring the following documents to the appointment: a valid copy of the BTA applicant's labour registration, passport, residence permit, valid proof of medical insurance and the labour agreement between the employer and the employee.

As it relates to applicants suspected of having submitted a request with a false employer, each person will also be contacted by phone to arrange an appointment.

All persons will be contacted by phone to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins will not be accepted.
