dead_man_mahoMAHO--An unidentified white man was found dying in the Maho area at the entrance of Amazon Road on Sunday around 8:00am. To protect the scene, police closed off the area and rerouted traffic.

When paramedics arrived, the man was bleeding from his nostrils and mouth and had a very weak pulse. They did not succeed in bringing him back to consciousness and the police doctor subsequently officially pronounced him dead. Later several police patrols, detectives and forensic specialists were called to collect evidence from the scene and corpse.

Detectives collected statements from possible witnesses near the scene. An investigation is ongoing to determine the deceased?s identity and the cause of death.

Many questions are left unanswered, but the police reported that no signs of violence or foul play were visible.

The police have requested anyone who may be able to identify the deceased to contact the Detective Department.

Meanwhile, a red car with all four wheels missing was found abandoned on the other side of the building where the dying man had been discovered. A police spokesperson said the car was possibly a rental and there was no indication as to whether it was in any way connected to the deceased man.
