Zagersgut roadwork is ahead of schedule

page3a047PHILIPSBURG--Fortunate to have good weather over the past week, contractor Windward Roads is currently finishing off work along Zagersgut Road and is scheduled to re-open the road to normal traffic over the weekend.

The work along the road, from the Coralita Road-Zagersgut Road junction to the roundabout at Eddy’s Auto Supply, was scheduled to last until July 23 and serve to facilitate the continuation of the Ebenezer to Illidge Road sewage-line project.

One lane of the road was closed off from July 3, allowing traffic only from the Zagersgut area to Illidge Road. As of the weekend, the road will be open for two-way traffic.

Department of New Works and Planning head Kurt Ruan explained that work on the sewage line would continue along the Coralita Road. He said the public would be informed about those plans shortly. That work is scheduled to last until August 10.
