Waterfront Road to be closed from Monday

~ Will remain closed for two months ~

COLE BAY--The upgrading of drainage and sewage works in the Cole Bay area will resume on Monday, June 11, when Waterfront Road will be closed from Cole Bay Tire Centre to Welfare Road for two months. The road will be closed from 9:00am and work will be carried out by Windward Roads.

As a result, a major change in the traffic situation concerns through traffic on Welfare Road. Traffic travelling from the Kruythoff roundabout will have to continue travelling straight on Welfare Road to access the Simpson Bay and airport areas as motorists will not be allowed to take a right at the junction across from Afoo Daily Extra.

However, the junction road will remain open, for persons going to the Orange Grove area. All other side roads also will remain open. All work is expected to be completed before schools open for the new school year in August.

The work on Waterfront Road will entail the installation of drainage, sewage, underground utilities, etc. It is being funded by USONA at a cost of NAf. 1.3 million
