PHILIPSBURG--Members of the St. Maarten Lions Club and stakeholders are gearing up for the fourth annual Health and Wellness Fair which is to be held at the Festival Village Saturday, March 24, from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

The day-long event will feature a host of free tests from different organisations, such as the Diabetes Foundation of St. Maarten and St. Maarten Alzheimer's Foundation. Free glucose, blood pressure and cholesterol tests will be available, as well as HIV testing, body fat measurements, memory tests, behavioural tests and more.

Children up to 17-years old can be vaccinated, while information will also be provided on special learning disabilities, mental health topics, breast cancer, and dental hygiene and maintenance.

Not only general health care information will be available, the wellness aspect will be just as important, stated Lions membership director Wally Havertong during a press conference at the Festival Village on Monday afternoon. St. Maarten Pensioners Association and Art of Living Foundation will be present, alongside insurance companies NAGICO and Fatum during the all-family event.
