Thunder showers are expected to hit several parts of the country later in the day and there is also a possibility of wet weather over the city of Colombo, an official with the Department of Meteorology said a short while ago.
Rain is expected to lash the Western, South Western, Central and Uva Provinces shortly after 4.00 pm Weather Official Gayana Hendavitharana said.
She added that these were convectional showers and connected to any monsoon conditions.
