PHILIPSBURG--The Ministry of Public Housing, Spatial Development, and Infrastructure (VROMI) is informing the general public that Backstreet will be closed in sections to vehicular traffic on Sunday, July 22, from 7:30am to 3:30pm. Pedestrians are urged to take precaution.
The reason for the road closure is to allow GEBE to carry out maintenance works. The work will consist of the removal of their existing wooden electricity poles and overhead electrical cables.
All side streets/roads from Cannegieter road leading to Front street will remain open. So it will be possible to move to and from Cannegieter road and Front Street.
The Ministry of Public Housing, Spatial Development, and Infrastructure (VROMI) apologizes for any inconvenience this will cause.
