According to the Jordanian Employment Ministry, Egyptians make up 68% of foreign workers in Jordan while workers from other Arab countries represent only 1.85%.
49.1% of foreign expatriates are concentrated in the Amman region while others are dispersed in Akabba in the South and Ajlun in the north. 28.1% are working in agriculture and fishing, 25.3% are working in social services, 21.5% in heavy industries while 13% are working in the commerce and hotel industry and 8.9% are working in the construction sector. Importantly, 90.8% of foreign workers in Jordan are uneducated.
