The hard-surfacing of the Rolandus Canal Philipsburg is progressing ahead of schedule according to Head of the Maintenance Department of the Ministry of VROMI Claudius Buncamper. The flooring and walls of the canal are being laid and the project is about 60 per cent complete. With the acquisition of the new storm water pumps and the result that these pumps will transfer more water at a faster rate, the canal had to be upgraded to accommodate the bigger water flow.
