Nour Ouenniche dies in early morning accident

Page1A036MARIGOT--Daughter Nour Ouenniche of Dutch St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vice-President Ludwig Ouenniche and Alba Ouenniche was killed in a car accident in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Ouenniche (20) was reportedly at the wheel driving from Grand Case to Marigot when she lost control of the vehicle on the approach to the Agrément roundabout around 1:30am. No other cars were involved in the fatal accident.

Ouenniche was reportedly hurled through the front windshield and died instantly, while a male passenger and friend escaped with minor injuries and was transported to hospital in severe shock.

The Daily Herald understands that Nour, a university student, was vacationing on the island when the accident occurred. Shortly before the accident she had reportedly dropped off another friend at Pic Paradis.

The Gendarmerie has opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the cause of the tragic accident.
