Six cruise ships and some 20,000 passengers visited St. Maarten on Wednesday. These visitors took time to sample the beaches, the culinary offerings and activities on and off shore. They also took time out to indulge in the duty free shipping. This was the first day of the high season with six cruise ships in port and berths of the two cruise ship piers were occupied. In port were Mein Schiff 2, Celebrity Silhouette, Adventure of the Seas, Ruby Princess, Oasis of the Seas and Carnival Dream. Seven cruise ships will be in port on December 10.
