Bush Road gas station robbed

PHILIPSBURG--Pump attendant P.T. was robbed at gunpoint whilst working alone at the gas pumps at the Sol station on Bush Road on Monday around 8:00pm.

P.T. explained that he had been servicing a car when a grey car entered the lot. P.T. was caught off-guard by a man of medium height waving a gun. The man, whose shirt was pulled over his head, threatened both the attendant and his customer. The robber's accomplice watched from inside their car.

P.T., holding the wad of cash in his hand, tried to reason with the robber. Instead the man slapped the cash out of P.T.'s hands. As the money scattered on the ground he rushed to collect it while still waving his gun. When he had collected enough, he ran into the waiting car and left the scene.

Police confirmed that a car had been found abandoned on Coralita Road shortly after the robbery was reported. Some cash was found in the car.
