The United States said it was concerned by violence in Egypt and called on the army rulers to respect human. At least 10 people were killed during the weekend riots.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said she was "deeply concerned" about the violence and urged the security forces "to respect and protect the universal rights of all Egyptians." She also urged protesters "to refrain from acts of violence." According to Reuters, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon also condemned excessive use of force by security forces in Cairo.
