EU delegation visits IDP camp in Vavuniya

An EU delegation has visited the camp for the internally displaced persons set up in Manik farm in Vavuniya, officials said today.

"They are in Sri Lanka to assess the resettlement and the development process", a spokesperson for the EU office in Colombo said.

The three member delegtion who are on a three day visit to Sri Lanka also met with External Affairs Minister G.L. Peiris.

According to government statistics some 3,000 persons are still remaining in IDP camps.
