Christmas in Philipsburg

page1cdeA number of youngsters braved Friday night's heavy downpour to spread Christmas cheer in the annual "Christmas in Philipsburg" parade. The parade was much shorter than in previous years, apparently because of the inclement weather. A number of spectators also braved the wet conditions and stood under umbrellas or store canopies or sought shelter elsewhere to watch the parade featuring mainly youngsters dressed in "Christmas colours" pass by. When the rain first started just before the parade began reports circulated that it might have been cancelled.
