President holds bilateral talks with Asif Ali Zardari

President Mahinda Rajapaksa in his two day official visit to Pakistan has held bi-lateral talks with the Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari last night. There was special attention focused on Co-operation between the two countries on trade, agriculture and economic development.
 
 
During the course of the bi-lateral talks two leaders emphasized attention on the need for development of trade between the two countries. Both Presidents have discussed matters regarding a methodology for the exchange of goods between their countries.On this occasion the President Rajapaksa drew the attention of the Pakistan President regarding the exploration of more opportunities for Sri Lanka to export Tea to Pakistan.
 
Meanwhile the Pakistan President, Ali Zardari expressed the possibility of offering the technology used in agriculture and the sugar industry in his country to Sri Lanka and the new technology used in his country in road construction could also be offered to Sri Lanka.
 
Two leaders further discussed the long standing friendship between Sri Lanka and Pakistan and matters relating to the development of diplomatic and regional co-operation between the two countries.
