National Transport Commission (NTC) has filled cases against 60 bus owners for operating bus service without obtaining the route permit.
The buses operated from Colombo to north and east without permits were nabbed during a special investigation conducted by NTC officials with the support of Police Traffic Headquarters.
The operation was conducted for 10 days from May 25 to June 5.
The cases were filled in Hulftsdrop and Mahara magistrate courts against the bus owners.
NTC informs the public to be vigilant on illegal transport services which is a threat to the passenger security.
