Brakes failed

Talk about an unwanted visitor. The residents of homes in Almond Grove received a little shock on Monday, when this truck rolled down a steep embankment, almost onto the homes below. The driver of the truck said the brakes of the vehicle had suddenly failed and he had lost control. If not for some trees, rocks and a wire fence, this situation could have been a lot worse. The driver stayed in the truck in an effort to bring it to a halt and was unharmed. (John Halley photo)
