An army officer and nine others were arrested by the Kalpitiya police for threatening a businessman with death, Police said today.
The army officer identified as Lt Col Sadun Athukorale and the others had allegedly threatened the businessman at his house over a dispute over the purchase of sea cucumber.
The 10 persons were produced before Additional Magistrate Dhammika Illangakoon and were later given Rs. 25,000 each cash bail.
They have been told to appear in courts on April 27.
