Former Sri Lankan Army Commander, Gen. Sarath Fonseka, who was recently released from jail on a presidential pardon, is exploring the possibility of entering parliament through the national list and examining the legal impediments against this. Speaking on the sidelines of a reception in Colombo on Friday, he said his intention is to fight for the rights of the people but at the moment there were legal restrictions against his political activities. He expressed the belief that it will be cleared enabling him to serve the country.Under the terms of his release, he cannot vote or contest elections. (Bandula)
