On hand for the official handover at the Receiver's Office were Prime Minister Sarah Wescot-Williams, Managing Director of PSS Denicio Richardson and Acting Head of the Receiver's Office Minerva Gumbs.
After lengthy discussions and negotiations that started in 2010, PSS was awarded the contract to redesign and produce the new St. Maarten tax stamps with some minor changes. PSS had to follow a strict code in reproducing the tax stamps, and was able to successfully produce and handover the first set to the amount of NAf. 100,000.
The stamps are of high quality and the Receiver's Office was very happy and relieved to have received the batch as the old Antillean ones had run out. The Prime Minister, who is also the Shareholder Representative of PSS, was given the honour of handing over the first set of stamps on behalf of PSS to the Receiver. PSS is continuing to work on bringing back other arrangements and services into the post and will be updating the public on other ventures shortly," Richardson added.
