Bahrain has freed 86 protesters detained during anti-regime protests that rocked the kingdom for nearly a month, the interior ministry said on Monday. "An official has announced the release of 86 detainees after legal procedures have been taken against them," the ministry said, according to AFP.
The opposition said that some 400 people were detained during Shiite-led protests.
The interior ministry has said that 24 people killed during the protests, four of them policemen, while three other activists have died in custody.
