� The U.S. Embassy in Colombo yesterday distanced itself from the arrest of two its citizens who were detained at the Katunayake International Airport (KIA) along with a firearm on Wednesday this week. � Officials with the U.S. Embassy in Colombo said that the matter was being treated by the local police and other authorities and it will remain that way. � "The embassy has not intention to get involved in any manner and it is a matter for the local officials to look into it’, the officials said without elaborating. � The two unidentified men were first nabbed by the Customs Authority and later handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). � The CID could not be reached today for comment in this connection.
